The top ten things we can do to keep our colon healthy:
(1) Acknowledge we are spiritual beings and develop a faith- based relationship with our Creator. Prayer, meditation, His words are great great ways to begin our day. Faith in a Superior Being, has been known to reduce stress, anxiety and worry, all of which affect the elimination of waste from our colon.
(2) Open air, is best when the source is form areas close to the water ( lakes, ponds, beaches, creeks, rivers). Negatively charged ions are highest after the rainfall. Keeping our windows opened , and using plants in our home, filter air (for a free exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide). Non restrictive clothing over our respiratory organ ( in the chest area)
allows for free movements of air through the lungs . An ample supply of oxygen enhances circulation and the elimination processes.
(3) Daily exercise tones the muscles of the heart. Life is in the blood and perfect health requires perfect circulation. Weights help to strengthen bones while toning and strengthening muscles. Stretching aids in circulation of lymph and blood while lubricating joints. Aerobic exercise helps to oxygenate and de-oxygenate at a cellular level, thus cleansing and re-building for efficiency in colon activity.
(4) Sunshine, and its best known benefit, is its ability to boost the body's production of Vitamin D. It's a natural way of fighting stress, boosting immunity, improving metabolism, lowering blood pressure, decreasing risk of Diabetes, helping with eye health, and inducing better sleep. Stress has a significant effect on normal bowel function.
(5) The importance of proper rest is underestimated by many. There is a significant difference between sleeping and resting. It is during rest that the eliminative organs cleanse, and regenerate. Like any great machinery, if it's not serviced frequently, the human body will eventually de-compensate without proper rest.
(6) Lots of alkaline fluids, including water, fruit and vegetable juices are crucial for complex metabolic processes. Approximately 75-80 % of the body's cells are made up of fluids. Thirst is not an indicator for wholesome fluids. When we become thirsty, our body has been dehydrated by at least 75%. Dehydration sets the stage for constipation.
(7) Temperence is moderation in that which is healthy for the body and abstaining from that which alter normal body functions. Many times we think about the unhealthy physical substances we place in our bodies. Un-healthy thoughts, emotions are among many self destroying habits.Intemperence impacts on bowel elimination.
(8) Nutrition is the mechanism by which the body nourishes the mind, body, soul and spirit. Garbage in garbage out. We are what we eat and we are what we do not eliminate.
(9) Benovelence has a tremendous influence on the immune response of the body. To give is to receive. Generosity leads not only to emtional satisfaction, but actually promotes health and healing. There is evolutionary rationale to the warm fuzzy experience of altruistic muscles.
(10) An attitude of gratitude also impacts on our wellbeing. The more grateful we are for what we have, the happier we are. The result is positive life adjustment and increased healing.
Any lifestyle habit that decreases stress ( mental, emotional, social, physical, financial, spiritual ) paves the way for better colon function. When the colon is able to timely empty itself of waste, the liver has a greater chance of remaining healthy. When the liver functions adequately, the blood remains alkaline. In an alkaline environment, decay, degeneration and disease is highly unlikely.
