Roots, Branches and Buds of our emotions.



Our emotions are an affective state of consciousness in which feelings are experienced. These experiences are distinguished from cognitive and volitional states of consciousness. 

Mood is dependent on chemicals of the brain. Any imbalance in these chemicals, feelings (emotions) are off:
(1) Seratonin-: serenity, hopefulness. Low levels contribute to depression.

(2) Glutamate-: learning and memory. Agitation, compulsivity and anger are related to low levels.

3) GABA -: tranquility. GABA and Glutamate balance each other.

(4) Dopamine-: arousal, stimulation. Released during stress and pain. Decreased levels are associated with substance abuse.

Past experience that can trigger these emotions. Foods and other life style practices can impact on emotions  in a positive way.

Rest is like a Vitamin

Rest is vitally important for the effective functioning of the entire body's system.

Each cell is  made up of a nucleus which is further made up of DNA and RNA, powerful proteins, responsible for complex metabolic functions.

It's during rest that these cells, (which make up tissue, which make up organs, which make up systems) cleanse and rebuild. 

There is a daily cycle called the circadian rhythm. An inner cycle, called the Circaseptan rhythm, was also built in us to allow for recuperation in around seven days.

These rhythms are connected with several physiological and psychological functions. Heart rate, hormonal content in breast milk, potential for suicide, infection after surgery and rejection of transplanted tissue post surgery,,are among  a few.Infection and tissue rejection tend to take place 7 or 14 days post procedures. 

Our body functions begin to slow down at the close of a seventh day cycle, so the body can cleanse and repair at a cellular level.

It's time to slow down! To get off the spinning wheel! Take a break! Recuperate! Rejuvenate for betterliving experiences! Shalom!

Health and Wellness....



We are mental, emotional, social, physical and spiritual beings. A change in any of these regions will have a direct impact on the other areas of our being, ultimately impacting on our finances.

"Health is a sate of complete physical,mental and social well-being,and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." World Health Organization. I would like to add spirituality since there is a spiritual component of mankind.

Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of, and making choices, towards a healthy and fulfilling life. The Institute of Wellness defines wellness as "an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence."

I will focus on renewing the mind, rejuvenating the body, rebuilding relationships, replenishing our storehouse and restoring the whole image of mankind.
